FERRON STEEL is produced using the world’s most advanced technology. The bars are being successfully used in most parts of the developed world. The process imparts high strength to the bar using the latest technique of thermo mechanical treatment (TMT) as against cold twisting, which is used to manufacture traditional reinforcing bars. The process involves passing of bars through a special cooling pipe system where they are rapidly water quenched for a few seconds depending on the size of the bars and then rolling speed. The result of the rapid quenching is a hardened martensite structure on the surface of the bar and a soft core of the ferrite pearlite. The heat at the core of the bar reheats the surface to an equalizing temperature, which gives them high strength and toughness. Our plant is fine tuned for consistent cooling and equalizing temperature levels, the two factors that enhance the strength of the TMT bars.
FE-500 TMT
Thermo mechanically treated steel, known as TMT steel, can be described as a new-generation- high-strength steel having superior properties such as weld-ability, strength, ductility and bend-ability meeting highest quality standards of international level. FERRON RE-BARS is manufactured from superior quality billets manufactured in the same plant according to the requirement of the customers. At FERRON our mantra is quality. FERRON RE-BARS of FE-500 grade for sizes ranging between 8mm to 40mm. Special length orders for up to 22intrs can be accomplished. The standard length of the bar is 12mtrs.
RE-BARS & BILLETS
FERRON has a well equipped laboratory with testing machines like 100 m.t. UTM for measuring strength of steel bars and a physical lab under a well qualified chemist. Inspection is done from the raw material stage and continued till the preparation of test certificates for weight, strength and labeling of the products to conform to BIS Standards. To ensure international quality norms for the bars, an independent laboratory has been assigned the task of periodically inspecting the quality of TMT rebars in the secondary sector. Billet produced at our plant is tested in Spectrolab for chemical composition and released to rolling mills. After rolling samples are cut every half an hour and checked for physical properties and section weights. First and last bars of each lot are cross checked for chemical test such as carbon, manganese, silicon, sulphur and phosphorus and lot numbers are allotted for dispatch. Ferron Steels has obtained BIS License no. IS 1786. CM/L 6700028814 for its rebars and IS 2830 - 6700029715 for its billets and ISO Certification for quality.
